It Goes By So Fast!

Khloe has two bottom, front teeth with the top one's trying to come in. She's working really hard on the top two front ones.

She is also "walking" all over the place pushing her blue hippo. Well, I guess it's more like running. lol. We have decided we are in trouble.

She will be 9 months on Thursday! I have been semi-planning her first birthday party in my head. Khloe is eating more and more of the food we had. Mostly at dinner time. Last night she had some chicken, couscous, green beans and cateloupe--she loved them all.

We set up her little pool for the first time last week. See pictures below. She wasn't all that impressed but I'm sure by next Summer we won't be able to get her out of the pool. The bow in hair was just for show--one time only for photo. lol. ;)

We talked about getting ready to start the process for a second one last night. We hope to be officially on the waiting list by January 1, 2009! it's exciting and scary too! lol.

4th of July.

The 4th was a good day. Lot's of family showed up for the family reunion. Some family that none of us had seen for probably 20 years were there too. Very nice to have seen them after all this time. Kind of weird to see us all grown up and with children of our own. :)

This first pic is for Mindy. ;) I understand her need to take picture's of sleeping babies. This was taken in her pac n play at the cabin on the morning of the 4th.

I have to include this picture of our cousin Ava. She and Khloe loved on each other all day. They were just fascinated with each other. Ava is two.

8 Months Today!!!!

When did this happen? She is crawling (VERY fast too!), eating table food, can pull up to standing on her own against furniture, know's the word no but most of the time pretends not to know. We had to move the DVD player and other electronics up higher because she loves to play with the volume knob. lol. She loves to self feed when she gets the chance and she loves her Cheerios.

What Would You Do?

A friend of mine has a little boy. He is 9 years old. He is adopted. They adopted him when he was 6 months old. He has always known he is adopted and has met his birth siblings. Yesterday was his last day of school and two boys told him that because he is adopted he doesn't belong to his family. She got this out of him at 9 pm last night. They told him how much they love him and how heartbroken they would be if he was not in their lives. He then shut down and said he didn't want to talk about it anymore.

Where did these two boys get the idea that he doesn't belong? Their parents maybe? Where are they getting their ideas about adoption?

I'm sure that someday this might happen to Khloe. How would you handle it? I have no idea what I would do. I'd be seriously angry and heartbroken.

I Think I'm In Trouble.

Khloe has been crawling backwards and never gets very far because she gets frustrated that she is getting further away from whatever she is after. Today she went about 2 feet FORWARD going after the dog. He jumped up with this surprised look on his face and ran. lol.

Here's a picture of her that her grammie (my mom) took of her at her house when she went to get her from one of her naps.

It's Final!

Monday in court went well. Khloe was a star and had turned 7 months the day before her adoption finalization in court. It all went so quick. The BBQ later that night at our house with family and friends was fun and nice to just sit back and relax with everyone we love.

Busy Planning A Party.

I've gotten most of everything I need for the BBQ Monday night after the court finalization. Picked up some bright green plates, utensils and napkins and found some bright pink cups and I will pick up all the balloons Monday morning.

Khloe has pretty much recovered from being sick all last week with her first cold. The teething is still kicking her patootie but I have discovered the Hyland teething tablets. Good stuff and she opens her mouth for them. Her appetite is completely back.
We went to a Pampered Chef party earlier tonight and she was a star as usual. It started right when her bedtime starts but I needed to get out of the house and she did really well. She's always been a good baby tho.

She got to wear her flip flops for the first time today. It's suppose to hit 94 degrees here tomorrow:

Khloe Has A Date With The Judge!!

May 19, 2008, 1:15 pm. We got the papers yesterday for her adoption finalization court date! We are so excited. YAY!

She has been sick this week with a cold. Her first! It sucks. :( She's a trooper tho. On top of it she is teething the worst I have ever seen her teeth. While sitting in the Dr.'s office this morning for her follow up from Tuesday's appointment she was smiling for everyone in the waiting room and I noticed two little teeth just under the surface on the front, bottom gums.
Mom was over visiting yesterday and I let her do Khloe's hair so she can experience all that goes into doing her hair. It took her forever. I'm so used to it that I've gotten pretty good at doing it fast. I think mom get's it now. lol.

I can't believe she will be 7 months in 9 days! It is unbelievable how time just flies by when you have kids. She can now get on all fours and smiles really big but then she doesn't know what to do so she starts rocking and then rolls over. She's very proud of herself when she does this.

A few pics:

Taken last week. Sitting in daddy's chair in his home office.

This one was taken last week too.

Comment From A Family Member.

This past weekend was a big weekend in our community, lot's of things and events going on. At one event we sat down to eat BBQ next to a cousin and his wife. They are about mid to late 70's. His asked if we wanted more kids and I said we'd like at least one more. He then said (knowing that we met K's birthmom and spent a few days with her when K was born) you should see if the biomom ever gets pregnant again and you can adopt it too. What the heck? I know he's from another generation. I get that. I didn't say anything to him. He seemed to be under the impression that all birthmom's are drug addicted sluts. This surprises me considering that his younger sisiter had three children and was not married when she had them and they all three had different fathers. She raised them. Never married the fathers. It made me wonder what he really thought of his sister. This was back in the late 1930's and early 1940's--when girls were sent "away" and came back months later -with no baby and never talked about where they had been.

I am so angry that he said that. He doesn't even know her or what the situation was. How could he make such a careless statement in the joking way he did? Thank God Khloe is only 6 months old and does not understand what he was saying. What the heck do you say without making a scene? M was perfectly capable of raising Khloe. She already has three wonderful children. She's is graduating next month from college and still healing from the death of her husband and father to those three children and the circumstances of how Khloe came to be. She's been thru a heck of a lot in the last two years and has done an unbelievable job of keeping it together considering everything. She's unbelievably strong.

I'll end with some sweetness. After two whole days of BBQ's, wandering up and down crafter booths, a car show and parade she was worn out! She's such a trooper she never fusses, she just takes it all in.

It's Impossible That She's 6 Months Old!

But she is as of last Friday. J and I took her in for her pictures and they turned out way better than we could even have imagined. She is daddy's little rockstar! The guitar is one of daddy's--so glad we brought it in. The sunglasses are the surprise last minute thing I pulled out of my purse and it just worked!
